Despite the fact that, apparently, events like this occur on a quite regular basis, many people still seem surprised.

The lack of order in this village is simply astounding. Most seem to be attempting to fend for their own, or forming small groups. United, we all might stand a chance against the Malnosso. Or is it so that our captors have shown such a level of superiority, you have already given up without a proper attempt? ... No, perhaps the wide variety of races is to blame here. Who would trust a being that is different from their own, after all?

Pathetic. Pull yourselves together and take action, instead of speaking big words.

My body… It aches. I cannot sense any Mana around me. My powers will not work. Still, I am certain that whatever that Eternal Sword did to me, it was not lethal. Also, I cannot help but wonder about my surroundings. There is nothing but darkness. I can feel the ground underneath me, though I cannot see it. I can hear voices in the distance. If this is not the underworld, what is it?

Derris-Kharlan… My people… I cannot be deemed your hero any longer. My failure can never be forgiven. It seems my defeat was so great I am not even granted eternal rest as an escape.
